Labor Day is a day for those who work, they get a day off. Labor Day began in New York City on a Tuesday, on September 5, 1882, the people of New York City did it again a year later. By 1885 people from many industrial centers in the country celebrated Labor Day. On 1884 they made the first Monday on the month of September Labor Day, instead of it being a the first Tuesday of September. To this day, Labor Day is celebrated nationwide.
